En el momento de descubrir las cartas (showdown) todos los jugadores tienen que hacer la mayor mano posible (5 cartas) de sus 7 cartas. El jugador que ha abierto la puja, es el primero que muestra sus cartas y su mano. Cuando ´´Stud de 7 cartas´´ (Seven Card Stud) se juega en casino tradicional, el cropie define quien tiene la mayor mano. En el juego de ´´Stud de 7 cartas´´ (7 Card Stud poker) póquer en las salas on-line, el software especial define el ganador y quien gana las prendas recogidas.
